10 girls, one car and the Samsung Q1

This last two weeks has seen me involved with what will surely be one of the most interesting UMPC-in-action case studies to date. Not only will it be productive, and effective, but it will be prestigious and sexy too.

Stay tuned while I bring you more soon.

Hello Hugo,
Wondering if anyone has used the gesture utility 'strokeit' with a umpc. If so how effective is it?
thanks -Noel

Hugo did you see that Frank over at Ultra Mobile PC Tips got the ink to work in Outlook 2007 using Vista. He did a registry edit to make it work. The only thing is it gets reset after every reboot, but if someone wants this working before the HID drivers get released from Samsung this is the way to go. Also at www.cdw.com the Samsung Q1 with Vista is shipping in 8 to 10 days. Hopefully they release the drivers for the rest on that day or before.

Hi Hugo,
I've included some info on strokeit. Actually I envy u ur bilingual ability. Being monolingual I tend to assign a letter comb that 'seems right'. But when I come to activate say Celine (no comments from the peanut gallery abt my music taste thanks -not u Hugo, know ur a gentleman) was it 'ce'or 'cd'? Whereas u could stucture a library of spanish letter combs & their windows equivalents. Hey u can 'talk' 2 the device in Spanish (or Eskimo) -beat that Jobs & ur 'do it my way or else' iphone!
Noel

StrokeIt can currently recognize more than 80 unique mouse gestures and can be easily trained to recognize many more. For each gesture recognized, StrokeIt can execute a user-defined set of commands within the active application. StrokeIt commands are defined within plugin libraries that can be easily created by third parties to do nearly anything.

How do I perform a gesture?
Click and hold down the right mouse button and then draw the mouse gesture you want performed. You can temporarily disable StrokeIt by holding down the Control key, or right clicking on the StrokeIt icon in the system tray. If you want to cancel a mouse gesture while drawing it, simply left click.

Hi Hector,

How cool is the info about Vista. I share your concern however in hoping that their servers find out about the drivers as soon as their devices do! It would be nice to get just a little more FUNctionality out of Vista on Q1s.

Did you read the comment re Strokeit?

Hi Strokeit Dude (Is that you Noel),

Thank you for this thorough explanation of Strokeit...and your choice in music. My wife is an avid fan of Celine!

Are you using strokeit on a UMPC?
