FedEX Man is coming

*UPDATE 30th April 2007* As I logged back in to find out the status of my FedEX delivery I can see that it is "ON THE TRUCK":

*UPDATE 29th April 2007* As I logged back in to find out the status of my FedEX delivery I can see that it has landed, and, has also cleared Australian Customs. This means that by 10am (GMT+10:00) I will have all the pieces with me! Here's proof:

Now I've been known to blog about the FedEX man before, and I've also had one or two world exclusives. While this one is not the later, it is worth blogging about! Stay tuned as I am but days away. With CeBIT Fair Australia around the corner this device package will come in very handy.

For obvious reasons I have erased certain sections of the FedEX page.

Hey Hugo,
I'm a 19 year old guy from Germany,
I've seen a lot of your vids and I read many many many of your blogs and I'm really excited about your posts ;)

But now I got a problem. ^^

I don't know which UMPC would be the best choice for me.
I gotta get my university-entrance diploma this year (I'm actually doing it ...yeah!:) ).
And after this I will begin to study at university (cause I don't have to attend general consctription, yeah!:) ).

So I got an Fujitsu Siemens Amilo A1630 already as my "Home PC".
Though it's nice to have it cause I'm at least "a little" mobile, but it's really heavy, and because of it's Ati Radeon 9700 pro, it needs a lot of energy, which causes the accu not to stay alive that long (at least max. 2 hours :/).

I own a Sony Vaio also, but it's a little old, type PCG C1XD, just 400Mhz, but it's easier to carry than the Amilo ;)

All in all I'm not that mobile that I wanted to be, and this Sony is rather slow in work and just supports Windows XP, but also very slow... and USB 1.1 just sucks in order to transfer some files :(

I think an UMPC would be the right solution for me because it's small (you can even carry it in the pocket of your coat, can't you?), smart, easy to use (touchscreen etc..), and very stylisch (never seen a pc that just consists of a "screen" ;) )
And last but not least it's nice to watch a film, or to play some game in the train on the way to university =)

But I'm not sure which one to choose :/
There exist a few very good ones, shown here in your bloq and somewhere else, but even the very cool Samsung Q1 seems to have more than over 3 different Versions (...or more ?) on ebay e.g.
Also I don't really know which one would be the correct one to buy :/
As said below, I will need it for some study work, to play some games, to watch films, listen to music..thus a real multimedial pc, which is handy and easy to use=)

The price should not overstep the magical 1000€ mark, so about 1.366 US$.
Lower would be better of course, but I think minimum on RAM should be 1GB, that's rather "standard" now and even nicer to work with =)

I would be very pleased if you could answer this post, or add me maybe via ICQ ?

Maybe an answer to this post may be informative for me too.. ;)

Greetings from Germany !=)
yours Julian =)
