2Gig stick and I'm not afraid to use it


With 2x 2GB sticks of RAM in the house I am frantically running around checking what devices can actually see it. I upgraded my slate to 4GBs but unfirtunatley it only sees 3gigs...a Vista thing! Today however one of the machines I tested came up Trumps which was the eo i7209. Considering this is a Celeron based machine I think the fact that it sees all 2GB is really promising. Keep youposted on more developments!

    Elo...I have registered the RAM with the local law enforcement agency...so we're cool mate. Keep you posted on developments. LOL.

    Actually the 3 gig is a 32bit windows thing. You would see the same in XP as you do in Vista.

    It is not a Vista problem.

    BTW - am trying to purchase a Q1U. Do you think its worth a try to buy 2G RAM too. If so - can you give a link where to buy...

    I wish I knew about buying RAM. It really depends on the level of service and support you are after, the price you are chasing, and the delivery time. Just use Google, I think you'll find it locally in three minutes.

    I would highly recommend the RAM to anyone. It is the best money spent outside of the device itself.

    My problem is - am in Dubai - UAE (Middle East)...

    We can hardly see anyone 'shipping' these items to this region. I will have to catch a friend from U$, who can buy these stuffs and could drop me the device when he/she takes a break in this city on travel.... Chance for this is remote as of now. :(

    HELP!! I need to purchase a UMPC ASAP. I am torn between the Samsung Q1b or the eo 7209. I will be using this for giving surveys to visitors to zoos and aquariums so good handwriting ability is key as well as lightweight! Please HELP

    Hi Bronnenkent,

    Sounds exciting mate. With regards to the two devices you have chosen I am afraid that they both lack "real" handwritten input abilities. Becasue they have touchscreens which favour the finger it menas that if you are focused primarily on Pen you might feel a little dismayed with the response you get. For one, you can't lean on the glass and write. Make sure you watch this video and it explains the difference between five difference Ultra Mobile PC. Then get back to me with more questions if you need to.

    Question, for the Q1U-XP can any laptop memory, of 2GB PC5300 DDR2 work? regardless of brand?? I mean, I have a local store and they have a few with these specs, just want to know if I can pick any of them..
