Uber Tablet (me) on Engadget (P1610)

Obviously I created a stir when I posted my video of the Fujitsu P1610 - Fujitsu's follow up to the P1510. But to see the Uber Tablet blog on Engadget this morning, now that was something else.

It seems as though Fujitsu have a lot to answer for by making me take down the video. "The Chalice" as it is codenamed is a remarkable device and has impacted many prospective Tablet PC buyers.

Come on Fuji, let me put the video back up!

Hey Hugo,
We won't forget that you were the first! Thanks for the update. This p1610 is going to be nice, but the price might scare folks. It has no optical drive, so it seems like it should be classed closer to UMPC than Tablet. What do you think? The main difference, I guess, is the keyboard, and the price. OUCH!

Hey Steve,

Cheers mate, it sure feels good to be acknowledged. In regards to your thougths I think your almost right, i.e. should be classed as an Ultra Mobile PC.

P1610 is a rare beast in that the only way to sum it up is as a "true mini-notebook, with pen features." Price, yeah, big concern, for some; for most however the package will almost be irrestible. I think Fuji could up the price and still sell a heaps of these. lol

PS. Way too many monikers in this day and age.

And more importantly(?), will you have access to selling the stuff in Oz before/after Christmas ?

I haven't seen the video, I was too late to get on board, (grrrrr) but when you're excited, geeezzz you've got me wandering all over the web not to find any full reviews.

p.s. Enjoying your blogs.

Hi Samiuela,

I'm as keen as you are to get my money on this device. With the 3G goodness inside I just feel like it's a winner. I will ensure that Tegatech Australia gets access to the devices so that Aust/NZ can enjoy the P1610 journey.

Thanks for your support! It's all for you baby, it's all for you!

Any updates on US release date? How about alternate sites where your video may have been copied prior to it's removal.

Hi Mark,

That's the million dollar question. Let me keep drilling at Fujitsu to get some answers. The playing it mysterious at the moment.

Keep ya posted!

Hi Tablettoe,

I haven't got any scoops for you (rare I know) but I will keep my ear to the ground. Thanks for the reminder...

BTW when you want to place a link make sure you use the "a href" command, otherwise it screws the page layout.

What do you know about the Micrsoft Education device anyway?
